Technical Audit: Is Your Website Ready for AI Agents? (Free Scan)
AI agents evaluate your website in milliseconds by reading code, not pixels — this technical audit covers the 6 areas (HTML structure, schema, performance, llms.txt, content, security) that determine if you get recommended.
ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google Gemini — they answer millions of questions about local businesses every day. "Best plumber in Rotterdam." "Reliable accountant for freelancers." "Real estate agent with good reviews in Utrecht."
The question isn't whether your potential clients use these tools. They already do. The question is: does your business appear in the answers?
According to Gartner (2025), 30% of all search queries in 2026 go through AI assistants. By 2028, that number reaches 50%. Businesses that aren't visible to AI agents now won't be found at all. Period.
At Mindsora, we audit websites for AI discoverability. We check six technical areas that determine whether AI agents understand, trust, and recommend your business. Here's exactly what we look at — and what makes the difference.
The 6 Areas of an AI Discoverability Audit
1. llms.txt — Your Business Card for AI
llms.txt is a text file in your website's root directory that tells AI models who you are, what you do, and what the key actions are. Think of it as robots.txt, but for large language models.
Good example:
# Van Dam Bakery
> Artisan bakery in Delft since 1987.
> Bread, pastries, and cakes for consumers and hospitality.
## Primary actions
- Order a cake: /order
- View assortment: /products
- Contact: /contact
Bad example:
No llms.txt present. The AI agent has to figure out what the business does based on HTML fragments. Sometimes that works. Usually not well enough.
Status Dutch SMBs: Less than 2% of Dutch SMB websites have an llms.txt. Right now, this is a competitive advantage. In two years, it'll be a hygiene standard.
2. Schema.org Markup — Structured Data
Schema.org markup is code in your HTML that tells AI agents: this is a business, these are the opening hours, this is the address, these are the services we offer, these are our reviews.
Good example:
A website with LocalBusiness schema including name, address, phone number, opening hours, ServiceCatalog with all services, and AggregateRating with 47 Google reviews.
Bad example: No schema markup. The AI agent sees a page with text but can't structurally determine whether it's a business, where it's located, or what it offers.
Impact: Websites with correct schema markup are cited up to 40% more often in AI answers (source: Schema.org Adoption Study, SearchEngineJournal 2025).
3. Open Graph Tags — How AI Presents You
Open Graph tags (og:title, og:description, og:image) determine how your website appears when an AI agent shares or cites you. Without these tags, the AI picks a title and description on its own — often poorly.
Good:
<meta property="og:title" content="Van Dam Bakery — Artisan bread from Delft">
<meta property="og:description" content="Since 1987. Bread, pastries, and cakes. Order online or visit us on Voorstraat.">
<meta property="og:image" content="https://vandambakery.nl/og-image.jpg">
Bad:
No Open Graph tags, or only a generic og:title that's identical to the <title> tag. No og:image.
4. Semantic HTML — Your Page's Structure
AI agents don't read pixels. They read HTML elements. If your website correctly uses <header>, <main>, <article>, <section>, <nav>, and <footer>, an AI agent understands your page structure. If everything sits in <div> soup, the agent has to guess.
| Element | Meaning for AI agent |
|---|---|
<header> |
Navigation and logo live here |
<main> |
This is the main content |
<article> |
This is a standalone piece of content |
<section> |
This is a thematic block |
<nav> |
These are navigation links |
<footer> |
Contact info and legal links |
Good: A page where an AI agent understands the structure within 100ms.
Bad: 47 nested <div> tags with no semantic meaning.
5. Loading Speed — Speed Equals Trust
AI agents have timeouts. If your website takes more than 3 seconds to load, the page may not be fully indexed. Google's Core Web Vitals are the standard here.
| Metric | Good | Moderate | Poor |
|---|---|---|---|
| LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) | < 2.5s | 2.5-4s | > 4s |
| FID (First Input Delay) | < 100ms | 100-300ms | > 300ms |
| CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) | < 0.1 | 0.1-0.25 | > 0.25 |
Average Dutch SMB website: LCP of 4.2 seconds (source: HTTPArchive, 2025). That's in the red zone.
6. robots.txt — Are You Blocking AI Crawlers?
Many websites unintentionally block AI crawlers in their robots.txt. Some WordPress themes and security plugins do this by default. The result: your website doesn't exist for AI agents.
Good:
User-agent: *
Allow: /
Bad:
User-agent: GPTBot
Disallow: /
User-agent: ClaudeBot
Disallow: /
If you block GPTBot and ClaudeBot, you won't appear in ChatGPT and Claude. It's that simple.
Optimized vs. Typical SMB Website
| Area | Optimized site | Typical SMB site |
|---|---|---|
| llms.txt | Present, complete | Not present |
| Schema markup | LocalBusiness + Service + FAQ | None or basic only |
| Open Graph | Complete, with image | Missing or generic |
| Semantic HTML | Correctly nested | Div soup |
| Loading speed (LCP) | < 2 seconds | 3-5 seconds |
| robots.txt | AI crawlers allowed | Unknown or blocked |
The difference in AI discoverability between these two: the optimized site gets cited 5-8x more often in AI answers on average.
What Does It Cost to Fix This?
Most of these optimizations aren't technically complex. The problem is they require specific knowledge that the average web developer doesn't have — because this field is barely a year old.
At Mindsora, we offer the Agent-Ready Audit. In a detailed report, we show exactly where your website stands on all six areas, with concrete recommendations and priorities.
Agent-Ready Audit: what you get
- Score per area (1-10) with explanation
- Comparison with your direct competitors
- Priority list: what delivers the most impact to fix first
- Estimated impact on AI discoverability
- Implementation instructions (DIY or let us handle it)
Do You Know Your Score?
Most business owners have no idea how their website scores on AI discoverability. They know their Google ranking, but not whether ChatGPT recommends them.
That changes now. We offer a free AI Readiness Scan — an initial assessment of your website across the six areas. No obligations, no sales pitch. Just a clear picture of where you stand.
